[oclug]Fonts - solved

So I think I got it figured... It was a combination of my site, the New
York times site and Google that triggered a thought....
They all have one thing in common.... either CSS or font tags with
"Arial" or "Arial, Helvetica" or "Times"... etc... the one site that
worked had "sans-serif". I began to suspect that my version of Netscape
was incorrectly substituting the font names... so even though the site
had, say, helvetica listed as base font for example, MDK's versions of
Netscape/moz/gal were being literal... They never saw helvetica because
on my system helvetica is called urw-helvetica-iso8859-1(5)
Call the font via CSS by its full name or just sans-serif and boom...
all looks good. However, sites that have names like arial, helvetica,
etc resort to (I believe) the old style bitmap raster... which is ugly.
Whats really interesting is the full name causes Konq to break (go
figure) I suspect XFT2 solves this issue.
Anybody buy this? Comments?
