I think kmail actually has a facility to do that - I'm not with my system
so I can't check, but it seems to me that I did it with kmail once not
long ago.  But there are a number of scripts you might want to check out.
Try a search on google for "mailbox to maildir"   There are a number of
scripts listed.  Also, you might want to try this:
