[oclug][OT] Programming advice (from a newbie programmer)

Note to self:  When generating random output, make sure the sample pool is 
sufficently large....

I just ran the darned program 15 times and got the same result every time.  
Couldn't figure out what the heck I'd done wrong...  
Was just the gods of chance helping out the programming gods....
Got a different answer the 16th time

If you install packages after local compilations, use the bash
script "checkinstall", in place of 'make install'.It will make
necessary entries into the package  database  for  your distro
