My apologizes to anyone on the list that I have offended with my post.
I was definitely looking for a tool extract attributes from an Access 2000
database. Since I did post it to the Linux list I just assumed that if
someone knew of a Linux tool they would let me know. I had already
downloaded and installed mdbtools and tried to extract the attributes,
unfortunately it worked for all the table fields but one. I will be
raising the issue on the mdbtools list. The suggestion to use dbtools
unfortunately also failed I suspect that it has not been upgraded to
support Access 2000 mdb files. For those that may be offended as far is I
can tell dbtools only runs on Microsoft's OS.
Why I am working with an Access database? Very simple answer . My client
uses Access, I do not feel it is my place to preach to my clients what
tools they should be using so I undertake the conversions at my end.
