[oclug]jabber chat question

Hello everyone:
	I have grabber / jabber running on my system ( grabber comes with the SuSE 
8.1 package).  My question, how can I chat with someone who may not have 
jabber or isn't a real computer wiz?
	Do only one of us need jabber?  Can I add her to my own list?  How can she 
register so we can chat?
	Of course, any help greatly appreciated.  Oh, I have been to the jabber.org 
site but I can't seem to find the location (link) where a person can 
register.
	Hope you can help.
