You know Corel Photopaint is still free to download for linux? You can
get it here:

or here if that fails
http://linux.corel.com/products/pp9/download.htm
It is no Photoshop, but it is a reasonable Linux replacement for my fav,
Paint Shop Pro. It uses a custom version of wine and is available for
slack, deb or rpm based packaging systems.
