[oclug]IP Numbering ... again.

Ran my Windows machine on the net without the firewall and virus
protection. Right after when I started the machine again, as soon as it
started Windows I lost the mouse and the keyboard. Started it in DOS and
was OK, keyboard and mouse worked. Took the important files off and
reinstalled Windows98. That did not work. So I formatted the drive and
reinstalled Windows98. Installed firewall, virus protection and VNC.
When I was running VNC previously it had an IP of 192.168.0.1 but now it
is 169.254.118.55. The firewall also uses this IP, but the firewall is
shut down when I use VNC. When I ping on either of the IP's above from
the Mandrake machine, it shows as unreachable.Is there a way I can set
the IP on the Windows machine to 192.168.0.1? If not, how do I
reconfigure the ethernet connection using ifconfig for 169.254.118.55.
