That is, if you don't want to follow the OCLUG general list, but still
want to be kept up to date on OCLUG events, subscribe to the Announce
list.

If you want to subscribe to the main list, don't subscribe to the announce
list. Otherwise you will get duplicate emails.

All emails sent to OCLUG-Announce should also be mirrored on the main list
as well.

This way a user that finds that the main list has too much traffic for it,
will still be able to get oclug announcements.

That's the way I always thought it should work. The main list should be one
of the subscribers to the "announce" list. SO everything on announce also
finds its way to the main list.. And you can pick one list to sign up to.
(Setting it up manaualy at the server is best, as the general List probaly
should be the "First" subscriber to "Announce")
