I remember a story in The Register about melting Cubes.  I looked for 
it, but came up empty.  My mind must be failing with age, which is bad 
news for anyone 34 or older.  The Cubes actually had a notorious bad 
rep for cracks in the outer case, and did quite well with heat.  Many 
of the stories about the Cube's heat-related problems arose around 
special unofficial customizations by the owner, or around video 
upgrades using off-the-shelf ATI Radeon cards.  Something about an 
inadequate heatsink...

To be honest, I'd really like to pick one up, just because I think they 
look cool.
