[oclug]hdparm question

Hi all,
Some months ago, I ran a console command I /think/ was called 'hdparm' 
  to test HDD output. I remember someone, dunno who, writing me and 
giving me a way to speed up my HDD, a Quantum FireballP AS20.5, using 
hdparm. I'd sure like to know what the command was to change drive 
parameters, my drive had a better output after I ran that particular 
command.

When I was running MDK 8.2, I could call this up as root and run it, 
but now it doesn't seem to even be on my drive. I've looked, can't 
find it. Has it changed names, or did I forget to install some 
pertinent RPM? I realy don't know and some help would be appreciated.
