My thanks, Brenda. I dropped my scripts into those directories, ordered
them appropriately, and things appear to be working as I had hoped!

WRT FreeS/WAN and iptables .. run the FreeS/WAN script first to bring up
the connections and create the interfaces, then run your firewall script
to blanket everything. My iptables script pulls data from ifconfig ppp0
and uses that in the rulesets, so it can adapt to changing IPs.

On another note, I used a util named 'ipcalc' on a RH box to determine
network information (network address, etc) for my iptables script. It's
written by RedHat, but, is it included in a Debian package? I copied it
from a RH box to my machine, but I'm curious if it's "officially"
available for Debian.

Cheers!
Jon
