This does not necessarily mean that there is anything wrong with the hard
drive or the partition table. What may be going on, is that your drive is
reported as a LBA by the bios, yet it may not have been set up this way
initially.
I've run several systems like this for years, without problem. Keep in
mind that I believe this is the error you are reporting, but without
clarification I am unable to provide a more robust answer.
What makes you think that there is a problem with the hard drive to begin
with? The box boots up, since you are using it, so it most likely is
reading the partitions and the drive itself fine (at least, to a point for
sure).
