Guess that what you get in playing with alphs software....:)

If you have the time, copy the installation sequence and paclage to your
drive. Then ls into the package to find the file "setup" Now run setup
as ./setup --help to see if there are any options provided. There should
be, now adjust to you liking in terms of path and no xwindows if
provided. Dont really know what they give you. OOo.org is different at
this point.

This shuold launch the command line installation process (not sure but
thats how OOo.org works) with out the gui/Xwindows dependencies. At
least it will elminate issue in mandrakes beta xwindows config. Give er
shot as see what happens. I could be entirely out to lunch. Its known to
happen from time too time but at least I can admit it..:)

Side Note: always remove your installation entry in the sversionic or
whatever its spelled located in the installations home dir. Star and
OOo.org will not install if your version is already listed there.

Interesting...why are you preferring Star over Openoffice. I would be
interested in knowing, thats all. If its a template issues, me thinks
since you have Star just copy them over to an OOo.org install and
upgrade with OOo.org as its released. On the other hand there may be
other issues involved hence the inquirey...
