I was trying to do something similiar with cdrecord
and had the same output.
My CD-RW works under Windows but not under Linux. This
line of code is the one that particuliarly caused me
allot of problems I think:
Device seems to be: Generic mmc CD-RW.
It seems to me that this may not be a "very" linux
comptiable burner. The driver does not seems right.
Try cdrecord --drivers for more info or look into man
cdrecord if that is not the right syntax.
In effect I spent about 20hrs trying to fiugre it out.
On my Windows box it was working within 10 minutes.
Mind you I posted a question about this very subject
to the group and no reply. Not to say that this group
has not been very helpfull they truly have. I was just
annoyed because there had to be about 50 emails about
some comment that was apparently anti-linux.
"Hey group, who cares about some individuals comment
about linux. Lets keep the focus and get linux working
for people. If anything critize Redhat for not making
an easier process for installation of CD burners"
I have a Professor at Trent University who wants to
use Linux more. We hope to see Linux used more at the
University. I am volunteering my time to help him set
it up. We have run into quite a few snags but are
working through them. On that note can the group help?
We are going to purchase a new Cdrom Burner and want
to know if you can suggest any models? We would prefer
to buy from a company that actually supports Linux.
Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks in advance
