[oclug]gentoo troubles

I tried each of the thre options for firewall:

none

standalone

masqerade.

all permutatuions of all the variouse options present at this point (kenel in 
a ram disk) result in precicely the same thing with the exception that if I 
manually input the DNS values Sympatico gave me when i subscribed nothing 
worked at all.

Being the very first steps of installation, it is a show stopper. Its really 
to0 bad.

I guess it is time to check out the IRC channel and try again.
