[oclug]2.4.19 nvidia woes

I've seen this before! .. did you add 
alias char-major-195 NVdriver
to your modules.conf? 

This always happens to me after I rebuild the kernel modules because I
got a web cam or camera that I didn't compile the modules for before.
The modules dir gets cleaned out and I have to rebuild nvidia and alsa
driver over again
