[oclug] Further to my editor question..

I want to thank everyone who responded to my quiry about the missing 
dash in my text editor..

Turns out that The problem with both the "advanced Editor" and with kate 
was that they had been installed to use a "defective" font.

The three characters ( ` ' and - ) were actually there, but were not 
being displayed on teh screen. Changing to use a differnt font seems to 
have fixed the problem.


I looked an nedit was not included with the "personal Edition" but gedit 
was and it also looks like something that may be usefull.  More learning!

(In searching I also found gFTP which solves the problem I was having 
with the old XFTP not being able to talk to the FTP server at my ISP.)
