I was actually looking at darwin unix today, and it doesn't seem to be
based on debian,
rather bsd unix. I think it came from the mach 3.0 project which was the
basis for the
next step os. I see no reason why it wouldn't run apache x-windows, etc.
Since apple
manufacturers proprietary hardware there might be some device driver issues
if you
were trying to do something exotic. It doesn't appear to have much in
common with
debian (the linux distro).

Has anyone had a chance to play with Darwin UNIX (supposedly based on
Debian, used for Mac OS X), and Yellow Dog Linux ?
I'm looking for feedback, comments, etc ...
