[oclug] Printer Installation

I ahve a new printer, supplied with Linux driver on CD-ROM. Internally, the printer is not listed in the printer list. How do I get the new driver into my Linux box?
I use Mandrake 8.1  The command $ printtool seems to be the program to do the installing, but unfortunately my printer is not listed. It is a Samsung ML1210 Laser Printer. Can this list be updated?
