The issue of mirroring the mailing list on a newsgroup actually came up
some three years ago. The only serious objection came from a few people
who worried potential spamming of list members. IIRC we voted to proceed
with the newsgroup at one of the meetings, but I don't know if anything
was ever implemented. Perhaps the Board, now that we have one, should
look at the issue once again?
