This would be from the Alliance group. The Alliance group is an
alliance of interested parties going after small to medium size
buisnesses. I had a long convo with a rep at the Alliance group. This
has nothing to do with the political party, although it may be political
itself.
Companies like MS and Adobe are envolved. MS has claims of loosing
millions of dollars in potential sales. How do they figure this, eh!
Anyhow, I see this as a great move. When end users are faced with
these types of pressures MS will see the big losses. There is no way
that the end user will pay the "Kings ransom" for the MS products.
Canadian end users are pretty thifty and will ultimately go for the
more cost effective choice. Voila! This is where open source steps in.
Anyhow, time will tell. The dream never dies, just the dreamer!
