[oclug] console resolution

Greetings:

Playing with my SuSE system and testing various installation options, I 
noticed that it comes with presets for the initial console resolution, 
800x600, 1024xX, etc. I thought this was rather interesting as the higher 
resolutions solve an ongoing realestate problem. 

So I was wondering if someone could point me to where to start looking and 
reading to set the console resolution permanently to say 1024xX or larger..:)
