Ok, these may not be good solutions but I am brainstorming here..
if you want to use soplayer then you could run a script that runs strace
(attached to the pid on which soplayer is running) and wait for it to go
to this "sleep" count the number of times it went to sleep (assumption:
it sleeps between slides). Then kill it.
You could also use open office as opposed to staroffice. I know that
open office does all of the tings that star office can do. And as far
as I know open office source can be obtained. You could modify
openoffice player to exit when the end of the presentation was reached.
Then you add a command line flag, like --terminate-on-finish and send
the patch to the openoffice team. :) ... and that is how open source
software should work.
