That's rhetorical nonsense. I've never agreed with that. The best teachers
in the world are those who are also leaders, and leaders as a matter of
course lead by example. Teachers who cannot do not teach, they talk about
what others have taught, therefore you don't learn lessons, you learn the
facts of other lessons. When the education system was first created the
people who taught new students were scholars, even at the rudimentary level.
Now we only see this in a University. The problem is overpopulation. You
can't get those who are leading to the masses, there's just not enough
leaders for that. The underlying problem is we're using an education system
designed for a vastly smaller population; therefore, it doesn't scale and
should be re-examined. Anyone could stick with a leader in a single field,
say Bill Gates (I'm serious, he's truly a great leader) or Yo Yo Ma and learn
from them day to day, get taught by them in passing, but really taught by
their actions, and they would have a better education than anyone from grade
1 - 12. It's not speculation, it's a reality. Overpopulation creates a
larger gap of drones in society. They get up, they go to work, they come
home, they complain about work, they watch TV, they eat dinner, they watch
more TV or perhaps participate in some hobby with other drones, then go to
sleep.
The teachers are not the problem. The problem is the teachers aren't
leaders. This isn't surprising mind you, it's been this way for thirty-five
years now. The education system just isn't the way anymore. *shrugs*
