The application which generates the PostScript code has to put special
marks in the PostScript code, which ps2pdf can recognize.  That's
how Adobe Distiller works.  So unless your original application
supports this, you're out of luck.

Or you could use real software (tm) like LaTeX and pdflatex. :-)
