When I boot I see:
"Failed to calculate dependencies".

I traced it to: /etc/init.d/modules

When I run the failing command manually I get:
/usr/sbin/update-modules
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in 
/lib/modules/2.4.19/kernel/drivers/block/rd.o

How can I tell what rd.o needs?

The boot screen also says "chip detected but no module" or something.
Is there a log of what this is?
