I got X working.
I can't compile KDE though. :-(

I tried 'emerge kde' but it got an ebuild error.

"!!! ERROR: The ebuild did not complete successfully.".
"!!! Function src_compile. Line -205, Exitcode 2".
"!!! No error message".

"!!! emerge aborting on /usr/portage/media-libs/imlib/imlib-1.9.14-r1.ebuild".

I have an AMD Athlon.

Any ideas of what to do next?

They should all do it the same way.
If there is a standard then I will bash any non-compliant distribution (eg. RH).
