A second vote for GARNOME. It's a great set of scripts, that'll get all
the required tarballs, and install them for you. It also has a really
great, helpful, developer community. I'm going off to install 0.13.1
right now.
You can get garnome at http://www.gnome.org/~jdub/garnome/
