I agree with both these points. But let's not belabour the process.
We have a list of candidates from Randal's list and a few more people
may be added based on *both* nominations from this list *and* any
verbal nominations at the next meeting.
We'll let the new board hash out the actual election procedures for a
vote by the membership at some future General Meeting. This first
election will of course be confused. As long as it is a credible
process then we'll do all right.
My own feeling, and this is strictly personal, that since the life of
OCLUG seems to be the list, we should not disenfranchize people who
cannot, for whatever reason, cannot make it to the General meetings
for votes. Some sort of proxy system should be set up.
