I personally grab apps out of unstable as I need them. Hence, both my home
and work boxes are somewhere between 2.2 and 2.3. A friend at work runs
unstable though. He also had the fun of fixing his system when a bad Perl
package was put in the unstable tree. They fixed it right away, but it's hard
to pick up the fix when _all_ of Debian's packaging utilities are written in
Perl. ;-)
unstable is definitely "at your own risk". The difference between Debian
and other distros, IMHO, is that what Debian calls unstable, RedHat calls 7.0.
