I keep seeing terms like "a few months back" and "a couple of years ago".
Something that Linux users new and old need to remember is that the pace
of Linux development is much faster than that of Windows or MacOS. Things
are changed and improved on a weekly basis.
It's certainly not realistic to judge the desktop performance of Linux
based on what you've used several months, or even years ago.
