[oclug] XFree86 4.0.2 goes black

Hi all,

I'm trying to get XFree86 4.0.2 running on Debian sid.

Everything works except for one thing:

As soon as a window pops up (such as xterm, or windowmaker's menu), the
entire display goes black.  So, this window system isn't windowing.

Has anyone got any suggestions?
