Hi,

I may be working on an interesting project which could stretch the
scalability of Linux. Are there any kernel gurus out there who might
know the answers to these questions:

1) How well can a Linux system handle thousands of network interfaces?
(You have to make a kernel patch to go beyond 100, but it's trivial.) I'm
thinking of a couple of thousand PPP interfaces.

2) How well can a Linux system handle routing tables with thousands of host
entries?

Is this totally beyond the realm of possibility?

Regards,

David.
