Hey Gang,
I got my package from Bell HSE today and installed all the hardware. The
trouble is that none of it was detected. I think they have changed their
equipment again. They sent me:
o 1 D-Link DFE-530TX 10/100 Adapter (PCI)
o 1 Efficient Networks, Inc SpeedStream DSL Modem
Kudzu does not seem to sniff the NIC. However, /etc/sysconfig/hwconf
includes this:
class: NETWORK
bus: PCI
detached: 0
device: eth
driver: unknown
desc: "VIA Technologies|unknown device 1106:3065"
vendorId: 1106
deviceId: 3065
pciType: 1

I'm running MDK7.1. Have you any advice for me? Maybe David Skoll can
shed some light on this.
(BTW, does anyone else feel that there are now enough Linux users to
justify Sympatico and many others making things a little easier on us?
I.e.: included drivers, software, support? I don't think we're just a
wierd little minority anymore. Where do we stand vs. Mac boxes?)
Thanks as always,
Dave.
