I got one of these about six months ago saying about the same thing.
However the country was different (some other impoverished nation's
deceased leader with millions to give away to strangers). I suspect
this is indeed a scam.

As you know, I have travelled the globe, including areas of Africa.
Travelling in certain countries, including countries like Nigera,
Kenya and Africa, the natives consider outsiders to be enemies. Some
of them will even go so far as to kidnap and murder. There is a
reason why I had a driver and bodyguard when I visited South Africa
and Kenya myself.

In fact, most of the countries I visited in Africa and Asia required
me to be 'accompanied' in this fashion due to high profile nature of
the work that I was doing and the very real danger that I could be a
target. This is of course in addition to the various diseases that I
had to innoculate myself against.

This particular scam is targeting greedy people who would be sucked
into going to Nigeria. If you can afford the money to go there, you
must be rich (obviously). Something nasty may very likely happen to
you.
