If you're using Redhat with linuxconf, you have to do a full
/etc/rc.d/init.d/network stop;/etc/rc.d/init.d/network start
from the command line. Linuxconf only executes a network relaod, which.
if you dig down deep enough into the boot scripts, only resets the default
route, and leaves the IP address unchanged. <sigh> don;t get me started
on how redhat handles networking...
