It's been a while since I installed and SuSE, but if I remember
correctly, just use yast.  Delete sendmail and yast should give
you a warning and ask you to choose one of several.  Just choose
postfix.

BTW.... SuSE 7.0 was the only system I could NOT get sendmail to
work.  I always installed postfix.  Worked great right "out of the box"
w/o any tweaking.
