There are several good books out there as well, although most of them are
taking a RedHatty RPM-style focus on building and installing. In just one
year, documentation has gone from sparse to abundant.
The SAMS MySQL book is excellent, the O'Reilly book MSQL/MySQL is about
equally good but more diverse in it's examples (Perl DBI, PHP etc.).
If you are looking for step-by-step hand-holding the SAMS book is better.
If you are generally familiar with building, installing and working with OSS
stuff, the O'Reilly book is more well ... O'Reillyish.
My $.02 worth.
