Hi:
It's interesting you mentioned Korean because I'm from Korea. Anyway, to
switch language, I don't think you need to recompile the kernel itself but you
want to play with locale settings. Actually I tried it for a while but it
seemed quite complicated so I just gave up. I played with some Korean
distributions and it looked like they made some patches some utilities and X
as well.
