Hi,
Why don't you set up NIS? That way, your users won't require different
passwords for the different servers.
You've got a few other option for backing up client machines remotely.
Maybe one of the products listed at the URL below can help.

Most of these probably aren't cheap. Nevertheless, you should be able to
find one which suits your needs. I haven't used any of these myself, so I
can't comment on their performance.
