HTML Email - was [oclug] Stormix troubles...

Actually, this interests me. We are in the middle of a debate at work
regarding the possibility of changing the corporate email system. It
currently breaks lines at something like 72 characters for anything going
out the SMTP gateway. One problem with this is when people send really long
URLs. They end up being broken and the receiver has to put it back together
(as well as understand they *have* to put it back together.)

I wonder what the current thinking is - should lines be left to the receiver
to wrap? Are there still mail clients that have a problem dealing with long
lines?

Cheers, Chris

Your line wrap is broken. Have your editor line wrap compositions at 72
columns for mailing lists, please.

Also, everyone please trim their replies. This message was 153kB.
