Ya that will solve it all right...thanks Andrew. 

But ya know what has me really baffled is 1. I had the same card working 
flawlessly for about a year (and more that a few months back) and 2. it 
worked intiially when i installed the dam thing yesterday and then went 
berzerk on me several hours later trashing my nic card's IRQ. Puzzles the 
bi-Jesus outta me?

confused....(some say permanently :>))
