Need some advise please:

My rogers connection once again went dead yesterday and Ive spend several ours
trying to diagnose it. The really weird part is that I can get through on my
laptop on the same modem, using the same configuration. (I thought) This is
where I started to get worried. Looked at everything /etc/hostsc.conf
/etc/route etc and everything looked ok. Finallly looking at the dmesg output I
see the kernal is setting the nic IRQ to 5. In bios output I see the following:

Card	Device	DMA	IRQ	Device Name
1	0	1,5	5	Audio [sb16]
2	0	NA	9	3Com 3C509B......

So here are my questions.

1.	I did reinstall the sound card yesterday but there were approx 3 hrs of
uninterrupted services from rogers. ie: the nic was functional. How can this be?

2.	If the kernal output is as below:

eth0: 3c509 at 0x300 tag1, 10baseT port,address xxxxxx IRQ5
then is there indeed an IRQ conflict and how do I resolve it given the bios
output above. Note isapnp is enabled on boot. System is SuSE 7

Best

Chris
