senior consulting engineer

We are seeking a Senior Consulting Engineer with strong systems
administration expertise, Linux knowledge and excellent communications
skills to provide technical leadership to our technical sales
organization. 

In this role, you will work directly with major account customers as
their named technical contact. You will scope customization projects and
lead implementation with e-smith's engineering team. You will also
provide pre- and post-sales client support in conjunction with sales. 

The successful applicant will have outstanding professional and project
leadership skills as well as a strong sense of dedication to client
satisfaction. Ideally, applicants should have a minimum of eight years
of work experience in professional services, systems integration
consulting, sales engineering, or project management. 

Technical skill requirements include an in-depth understanding of
systems administration under Linux/Unix, including such areas as mail
transports, file and print sharing, Apache web server, network security
procedures, and DNS configuration. Also required is experience programming 
in Perl. Knowledge of C and XML helpful. This position is based in Ottawa.
