God, there are so many mortal sins here. First, lying is a sin, but
since that isn't unnessesary, why do it? Trevor is right, it is there
problem, so put them in their place.
Secondly, to use Microsoft software is also a sin(1), the severity of
it depends on the circumstances. If you have no choice because of
circumstance, then it is a venial sin. A simple act of contrition
such as asking for God's forgiveness and attending Mass (preferable a
traditional latin Mass, otherwise known as the Tridentine) would
cleanse you. If you intentionlly use Microsoft that is a mortal sin,
which if not forgiven through sacremental confession will condemn you
to Hell. So, under no, repeat NO, circumstances use Microsoft
software. Even having a multi-boot system containing Microsoft is
what is known as proximate occasion to sin, so don't even have it. I
would venture to say that it is possible that mere possesion of
Microsoft "operating" system may in itself be a sin, much in the same
way that mere possession of child pornography is illegal.
Pretending to use Microsoft is a venial sin, put of a serious nature
since it combines two sins, lying and the use of Microsoft.

1. I once went to confession and told the priest about an occasion
that I used Microsoft on purpose (purely for research purposes, I
assure you). He asked why I was confessing that, and after my
explanations, with a little linux evangelization, he asked me to show
him and explain to him about linux. He's now a linux convert.

it is 'unnecessary.'
GUIs, while nice, are nonessential.
