Er, um...

I'm sure most of you have either biff or some mail checker running. Why flood 
the internet with pings and such? Why not just be checking for mail on a 
regular basis? Its almost as useless but it will have two functions instead 
of one. Keep you connected and check the mail.

I used to have a ping running continuously until I realized I was doing 
something superfluous. 

Just a thought!
