[oclug] Linux and AMD?

Wow, Bill. I have the same system at home. T-Bird 1.2 with 512MB RAM,
GeForce 2 MX w/TV Out. I had Kernel 2.4.5 on there for a while (it's all
windows now, my other AMD is solely Linux now). I have to agree with Bill.
Cannot stress fans enouch. I have a slot-mounted fan, a CoolerMaster extra
large heat-sink and fan (good up to 1.3GHz T-Birds) on the chip, and a large
case fan at the back of the case. There is certainly a lot of heat
expelled, but the chip temp seems reasonable even after heavy load (running
a Counter-Strike server usually). I love AMD though. Giv'er.

Pat.
