Every single piece of hardware that I've bought over the last few years
was bought only after making sure that it would run with Linux.  I'm
always sure to ask around too (see my scanner post from a few days ago).

After I buy my scanner, which will probably be an Epson according to
suggestions, I will make sure I email the company to let them know that
the main reason I plunked down all that money was because it works under
Linux.  Maybe then I will also email the other companies and tell them why
I did NOT buy from them...
