[oclug] Sympatico HSE and Linksys/Dlink Routers instead of Linux ??

I have Rogers on a D-Link home gateway for my mom/brother/sisters house.  It
works pretty much flawlessly.  Also have a friend on IStop.com DSL with a
Linksys home gateway/switch and he loves it.

Any experiences.... I have HSE (just switched from Rogers, long long story)
and am having a devil of a time getting either pppoe software for linux to
work
and the more I think about it the router may be a better solution, so here I
am
asking for anyone who's been exposed to it..
