"Roundabouts" you mean. I just love them, whipping around them is
quite a treat. It's even wilder when you've got four lanes of them in
rush hour with about half a dozen exits.
Here's a useless bit of trivia. In South Africa they call them
"robots", which is short for round-about. I remember the first time I
heard them called that was when I asked for directions. The gentleman
kept talking about these "robots" which I thought he was refering to
an automated traffic light. Anyway, I still got lost.
And what threw me off even more was the fact that south of the
equator you face North at noon to see the sun. The sun, while still
rising in the east and setting in the west, the direction of travel
is right-to-left rather than left-to-right, the way it is up here.
